When it comes to summer white wines nothing beats a really well made Pinot Blanc and winemaker Dave Sheppard has shown he has a pretty deft hand with the grape. But Dave is also quick to point out that the growing season has something to do with it too ... with what he had to work with in 2011 Dave has made a good wine here. The nose has a nice tropicality along with pear, honeysuckle and perfumed notes. The taste is pleasant with hints of sweetness, a decent amount of acidity pear skin, apple and lavender honey help to complete the impact. Price: $17.95 - Rating: *** 1/2+
