There are serious expressions of sparkling and then there are your fun, frolicking expressions of sparkling – this Flat Rock version falls somewhere in the middle showing elements of fun and seriousness. The serious side comes from 6 months in neutral oak and 2 years on lees in bottle … the fun is the fruity nature of the wine: the peachy, apple-y, sweet vanilla and freshness in each sip. It truly is a riddle as to which category it belongs, so if you’ll excuse me I’ll just pour another glass and contemplate it some more. Price: $29.95 – Rating: ****+
