This is a 4-vineyard blend Chardonnay – so it’s not about terroir as much as it’s about the wine itself. Barrel aged 12 months in French oak with partial malolactic fermentation – giving it an almost-creaminess. The nose has a real pleasing buttery-ness which follows on the palate along with some toasty-spiciness, especially on the finish … a little time should bring out more fruit. 5454 bottles produced and it’s sealed with a screwcap. Price: $37.95 – Rating: *** ½
