Tawse 2009 Quarry Road Pinot Noir
The grapes that go into this wine are biodynamically farmed, spend 12 months in French oak, and are both fermented and aged in barrel; resulting in a beauty of a Pinot. The nose drips with black and red cherries, red licorice, ripe strawberries and hints of vanilla. The wine hits the tongue with a sweet red cherry entry along with licorice and spiced-raspberries .. it’s juicy and elegant. The finish plays up the raspberry notes before the tannins take over in a very non-aggressive fashion. A real pleasure to sip on. Price: $34.95 – Rating: ****+
