Gewurztraminer is a hard sell – it’s the name many producers blame for the sluggish sales – if you can’t pronounce it you can’t ask for it (or are embarrassed to do so) … and I’ve heard many people turn it into a mangled mess. What isn’t a mangled mess is this delightful, spot-on Gewurzt from Tawse: the nose is pretty with spiced floral and lychee notes; the palate is full of white pepper and soapy quality, mixed with exotic fruit.
