It used to be hard to find Riesling in the Lake Erie North Shore, but today there are a number of producers showing love for this grape. Winemaker Tanya Mitchell has got 20 year old vines to play with, making for some of the oldest Riesling in the region; and these grapes are starting to reward that longevity of loving care. This is a lovely mineral driven Riesling with good acidity; the highlights are the limeade nuances and the long lingering finish that has just a hint of bitterness, which seems to give the wine a refreshing nuance on the dry finish.
