Vineland Estates 2011 Pinot Grigio
Winemaker Brian Schmidt seems ot have found a happy medium between two styles with this wine: the white fruit sweetness of Gris and the acidity-citrus nature of Grigio. The nose has plenty of that white fruit (apple/pear) but also shows its citrus side in the form of grapefruit cocktail. The palate is very pear-oriented with a dry finish that contains hints of green apple and good acidity – giving a lively, refreshing and zippy finish to this white … built for summer and hot days, or just the day-dream of them.
