I somehow have faith in this wine, though right now it is all oak, but that's what a track record will do for you - it gives you some credibility, and benefit of the doubt, when things don't seem quite up to snuff. 2010 was a great red wine vintage and tasting what Peller has done in the past with their Private Reserve wines gives them some street cred. The nose is intensely mocha, coffee bean and black currant; the palate adds blackberry to that blend but not enough to displace the oak. This wine'll need 3 years to show it's full fruit potential.
