Reviewed February 2010, as part of the sexy winemaker judging … For the white wine in the sexiest winemaker competition, Lyse Leblanc looked back at her catalogue and decided the 2006 Chardonnay best represented her white wine work … she could have taken an easier road with a fresher Chardonnay but she wanted to show the complexity of her wines as they age – and this one definitely shows some stuffing and its longevity. The nose is vanilla, butter and baked apple, while the palate has plenty of lovely fruit like melon and pear along with the baked apple and vanilla-butterscotch notes which all coated the mouth and made it a shear pleasure to sip on. The acidity was still there and helped to balance the fruit and barrel notes. Rating: ***½
