I was at a tasting recently, extolling the virtues of another Cabernet Franc, when somebody walked up to me and said, `you're a Cab Franc slut aren't youÉ` I wasn't offended, just a little taken aback that it was that obvious. But really I am a fan of Franc and with examples of Franc like this coming from Ontario it`s a wonder there aren't more like me. The nose is fairly typical, offering cherry, raspberry and tobacco - we just need the palate to catch up, and it will given another 2 years or so. Right now there is decent fruit hidden behind vanilla, pipe tobacco and spice; this wine should reward short term patience. Price: $20.75 - Rating: ****+
