There are Chardonnays to drink on their own and those to drink accompanied by a nice meal, I would put this one into the latter category. After 9-10 months in its barrel home the wine has developed a nice buttery, vanilla smell with some muted apple notes. The palate follows the nose pretty well with more butter and vanilla than fruit, which at this time remains fairly shy, but with a nice mouthfeel - it's very much a Chardonnay, there is no doubt about that.
