Tawse 2007 Sketches of Niagara Riesling
What an incredible value this is – and I don’t say that all too often about Tawse wines, so listen up and pay attention. This is considered the “low end” or “bottom tier” wine, but it’s top shelf to me. The nose is sweet peach, green apple and citrusy-orange-peel … that sounds pretty good so far but wait, it gets better. In the mouth, it’s juicy and sweet with just the right amount of tart acidity to balance it all together, there’s a bit of minerality, wet stone and some orangey-tangerine as it courses through the mouth … then there’s that lingering Clementine finsh; delicate and mouth-watering, there’s no better descriptive word for this wine tasting experience other than “Yow-za”. Best of all, the longer it sits in the glass, the better it gets, but I doubt it’ll be around long … too good not to drink up quick – but try to savour this one a little, it won’t disappoint. Price: $18.00
