Touted by the LCBO (in their November 21, 2009 release) as a “premium product” and very much the way Ontarians views Tawse winery, as a premium priced producer. But personally I think Tawse’s pricing has come down a notch since it opened its doors, especially with the release of their Sketches label, and if you also consider this is a single vineyard wine from a winery using bio-dynamic methods it could and should be a heck of a lot more expensive. This is a very good Cabernet Fanc with plenty of heft: tobacco, black cherry, red cherry, blackberry, nice tannins, big acidity – very lovely … a good example of what Mother Nature brought to Ontario wineries in 2007. Price: $29.95 – Rating: ****
