Between the Lines 2009 Lemberger
Now I'm sure you thought Lemberger was a cheese - but alas no, this is a wine review after all and rarely sashay into the forum of cheese (although I am a big fan of that product too). This is what the folks at Between the Lines hope will be their signature wine and it certainly is a nice one to hang their hat on. The Lemberger spent 1 and a half years in all new, mainly French oak with a bit of American for seasoning. The nose is a little leathery with some raspberry aroma. The palate shows that all the new wood was put to good use with nice spiced-raspberry notes and plenty of acidity on the finish, which is long, and as you would guess, has plenty of tart, yet spiced raspberry notes.
