Hillebrand 2006 Trius Riesling Dry
Funny to call this a “dry” Riesling, when all indications point to something sweet. A nose that’s got all kinds of sweet tropical fruit like pineapple core and mango, along with some peach pit nuances. The taste is most reminiscent of fruit cocktail, but instead of the sweet syrup, this one delivers a tart bite in its sauciness – it’s a great mix of sweet and tart with an incredibly long finish. There’s no wonder this wine won for best Riesling at the 2008 Cuvee Awards. Price: $13.75
