Ontario Reviews

Rosewood Estates 2008 Merlot
There has been some badmouthing about the '08 vintage here in Ontario mainly about the ill-performing red varieties. The winemakers rule applies here - good winemakers can make good wine in a bad year ... Natalie Spytkowski has been at it for quite some time in Ontario and thus knows how to deal with a tough vintage. This wine has good fruit and nice herbs on the nose; the palate shows pleasant red fruit with vanilla nuances - and it really does sing a sweet tune in the mouth. Drink now or over the next 2-3 years. Price: $20.00 - Rating: ****
