This is an odd wine, I say that because the nose is really off-putting, it has a cheesy character that isn't very inviting. But I am a professional, and if it's wine and if I sniff it, I will sooner or later take a sip ... but in most cases I have the spittoon close at hand. This was not one of those times that I needed it though. The palate proved to be quite drinkable with raspberry, tobacco leaf notes and a decent amount of tannins. I'd give it another year and see where it goes. Sure it has a funky nose, but the flavours are coming around nicely ... here's hoping the nose follows suit. Price: $29.95 - Rating: *** 1/2+
