Westcott 2013 Chardonnay, Estate
Here we have the Westcott Estate Chardonnay which begins its life with 12 months in oak, lees stirring and 2/3 new all French oak - after the Reserve barrels are removed from the production you have the Estate series of wines. In 2013 the fruit hung an extra month than the previous vintage, allowing the fruit to ripen more slowly and achieving a more well-rounded wine. Aromas are fairly typically Chardonnay: butter, vanilla, apple; palate has a beautiful creamy texture and shows apple, peach and apricot along with hints of oak and spice on the finish. Price: $26.00 - Rating: ****
