When I say it’s the same-old same-old Chardonnay from KEW that’s not a bad thing – these “old vines” sure do bring something interesting to the table. This year they have aged the wine for 15 months in used / older French oak resulting in a wine that’s delicate with vanilla, peach and apple puree on the nose. Palate has complexity to match its years: apple, vanilla, grilled peach, creamed pineapple all balanced with a nice spiced up finish and balancing acidity. Price: $19.95 – Rating: ****+
