Kacaba 2014 Chardonnay, Oak Aged

Wine is fermented in stainless steel before moving over to barrel for a quick 6 month soak … the oak is not intrusive because they use 2nd fill barrels, but it still adds additional layers of flavour: butterscotch, apple, pear and grilled peach all take a turn on the palate balanced off with nice acidity and a lemon-toffee finish.  Price: $24.95 – Rating: ****
