This is a favourite barrel selection (2 in total) from the 2015 vintage .. 20 months in oak (no new) full lees contact from beginning to end, 2 varieties of yeast and over 50 cases produced. The results is a slutty California-style wine made from Ontario fruit: smoky and spicy with lots of lovely tropical notes, nice texture and richness throughout … that all said I can safely say: this is not my kind of Chardonnay; two blousy and lacks a majority of fruit and wallows in ballsy barrel notes … but I bet people love it because it’s more what they expect from Chardonnay (see my Cali-comment above).
