When people at Closson Chase say "rest on its lees" that's exactly what they mean, rest on its lees ... no stirring of the barrel lees for the 16 months the wine was in its barrel home (10% new); it also went through minimal filtration and full malolactic fermentation (not necessarily in that order) - if you don't understand all that jibber-jabber let's try this then: rich, buttery and creamy on the palate with great weight yet balancing acidity to keep it fresh. The apple, peach and praline notes are a great aspect of the mid-palate which is just volumptuous and addicitive all the way to the finish.
