Featherstone 2016 Chardonnay, Canadian Oak

Not a lot of folks deal in Canadian Oak but Dave Johnson at Featherstone has a real good feel for it – this barrel fermented, wild fermented Chardonnay spends 12 months in the stuff (25% new), the result is a pretty and elegant white that’s tasty and toasty with notes of vanilla, coconut and spiced peach with an apple and lemon curd finish that also seems to find a bit of floral for added enjoyment.
