“Brock” is Closson Chase’s interpretation of Niagara fruit that comes into the country – and annually has become one of my favourites from the winery. 12 months in old (4-5 year old) oak helps keep the fruit intact while giving added complexity through the “barrel” process without adding un-needed barrel flavours: delicate and creamy (from lees contact) with buttery, apple, peach pit, mineral and spice notes … acidity helps keep everything in check. It’s a restaurant only wine, but ask nicely and maybe you can pick up a bottle or two.
