Crickey, this is one damn fine wine – maybe one of the best “Red” ever. It starts with 43% Cabernet Franc, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot from two estate vineyards: Carlton and Clark – then barrel aged 12 months in a mix of French and American oak. Aromas are alluring with their blackberry, cassis, coffee bean and baker’s cocoa … the palate follows up all that sniffing goodness with smoky and mocha notes plus black cherry and spice … it’s a beauty and just shy of perfection – maybe time will add that little extra element but for now …
