There’s a whole lot going on with this Merlot and little of it has anything to do with the 35% new oak – it’s a combination of great vintage and know-how of handling (ok, so maybe the oak does play a small role). Mocha, leather along with blue and black fruit, gentle spice and a savoury smoked-black cherry finish. Well-integrated, good concentration, rich flavour are the hallmarks of this wine.
