This is one of those powerful wow wines from the 2016 vintage - one that'll need time to settle, but really shows it's power and elegance right now. 40% new French oak for a total of 16 months – and while 45% of the Franc grapes were dried (aka: appassimento) the whole of the wine screams Cabernet Franc. mocha, raspberry, black cherry, tobacco and subtle floral notes lead to a finish that's long on cigar box and pepper ... this one will last 10 years or more in the cellar but be prepared to open one in 2021, just as a tester.  Price: $42.00 - Rating: **** 1/2
