With toned back oak and up front fruit this is a delightful Chardonnay that wants you to remember that Chardonnay is first and foremost a fruit: apple, lime and melon take center-stage, it’s light and lovely in the mouth and the delicate use of new oak (20%) and mid-length time in it (only 10 months) makes for something that comes off refreshing instead of over-blown. The full malolactic fermentation adds a creamy element but in the end the acidity does what it should, cleans things up for the next sip. Price: $27.95 – Rating: ****
