Trius NV Brut Rosé (2019)

2019 Tasting ... The majority of this wine is Pinot Noir (about 2/3) and Chardonnay (1/3) but there are elements of Gamay as well, mainly in the dosage (for colour) - but this version of Rosé Brut is almost colourless, with the merest touch of pink-hue to it. They are aiming for a drier version with finesse and taking only the heart of their whole bunch pressings. The Rosé aromas appear on the nose with strawberry and raspberry, but the palate leans more lemon-lime with great acidity ... wine spends 22 months on lees and sources say they're also going for a more ageable version - might be worth buying a few and testing out that theory.  Price: $32.95 - Rating: ****
