One of the best Gamay Noir Droit to date, even when compared to those bigger, hotter vintage versions – and upon tasting it I’m still surprised that this wine is unoaked. The dark fruit is on full display: black cherry, plus hints of mocha, floral and hints of white pepper … the acid backbone screams for food, yet with just a chill screams just to be sipped on. There is plenty of pleasure in this bottle now and for the next few years – but don’t wait, it’s a wine you’ll want to consume young, trust me. Price: $19.95 – Rating: ****+
