One of two “single vineyard” series wines from Cloudsley – this one is the 4-best-barrel blend from Foxcroft of which 50% of the French medium-long toast barrels are new … all wild- and barrel-fermented … there’s a lovely saline quality to the wine that reacts well with the other note of melon rind, peach skin, bruised apple leading to a smoky finish. The wine comes across lean but still luxurious in a Chablis-way … “I make wines I like to drink,” says Adam Lowy, owner – “It’s in case I have to drink them all myself.” He’ll definitely have help with this one. Price: $50.00 – Raring: ****
