This starts off with a leesy and funky aroma, but underneath that there’s some nice typical Chardonnay character that makes it more interesting. Cloudy-look (a la scrumpy apple cider from heritage apples) mix with Bosc pear and peach flavours and aromas – the subtle use of oak brings a gentle spicy note along with peaches and cream to the finish. It’s sealed under “plastic” so longevity is an issue – but this is a style to be consumed in three-years or so, here’s hoping it won’t be affected. Price: $ restaurant pricing - Rating: *** ½+
