This continues to be one of my favourites from Colaneir, probably because I’m a fan of the Ripasso-style wines it is patterned after made famous in Veneto, Italy. This is a 3 grape blend of Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Merlot. The nose is anise, cherry and spice which can’t prepare you for a palate that shows elegant complexity: spiced-cherry, vanilla-smoke with a cocoa finish that mixes with a gentle and elegant spiciness and rich raspberry kirsch.
