Usually when I put the words Coyote's Run and Pinot together I'm talking Noir, not Gris. Every time I try the Coyote's Pinot Gris I think "nice wine" while owner Jeff Aubry always tells me how great he thinks it is, and we dis-a-gris, until this year ... this year's offering is something special, it has character and is inviting: the nose has melon rind and citrus notes while the palate muddies the water in a good way. There's a bitterness to the finish that helps balance out the citrus rind and white fruits - thus propelling it to a nice finish in the the summer refresher vein. Price: $17.95 - Rating: ****
