Carrick Wines NV Partridge Eye
Here’s an odd little wine that defies description. Carrick is a winery located north of Midway, Ontario and aside from saying Partridge Eye on the label there is nothing to tell you what the varietal is. That usually means a hybrid or something else people will not readily recognize, so they don’t feel like confusing the issue. The nose is unripe pineapple and pear, while the palate has citrus and green papaya. The finish is even more interesting as it has a lingering note of Bartlett pear skin. Price: $16.00 – Rating: *** ½
