This is Stratus' second label (or is it better to say 'first' second label, as there is now also Tollgate) ... these are barrels that don't make the cut into the big boy blend or single varietal special offerings. And there's a little bit of everything here - and I'm not just talking about the grape make-up: cherry, tobacco, strawberry, chocolate, baking spice, cinnamon-toast; yet it's a simple sipper that's easy and pleasant to drink ... it has elements of complexity and good acidity - a very fine sip indeed, it might just be the best 'Ass' I've seen, or tasted, in some time.
