I'll come right out and say it, I am not a fan of Marechal Foch, I find it a nasty, off-putting grape that one friend once described as smelling like stinky feet (thankfully he never said it tasted the same way). Saying all that I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Malivoire has made a name for themselves with their old vines Foch but this one seems to be on a good one from a good year: blackberry, leather, brambly fruit with a touch of the Gamy ... this one is better than the usual Foch.
