When winemaker Natalie Spytkowsky once told me that Cabernet Franc was not her favourite grape to work with I nearly fell out of my chair (thankfully I wasn't sitting), because over the years I have tasted some amazing Francs that have been brought to bottle by means of her handiwork. Once again Natalie has impressed with Cabernet Franc, this time from the 2010 vintage. There's black cherry, tobacco, lovely spiced notes and an elegant finish that reminiscent of peppered-raspberries. They say work with what you love, but in Natalie's case she can work with Cabernet Franc anytime she likes, in fact, I insist. Price: $22.00 - Rating: ****+
