Unoaked Chardonnay has a tendency to be fruity and somewhat boring, but this puppy has an interesting hazelnut note to it, giving it some added character - could be from the 5 months it spent on lees. Also giving the wine a little pizzazz is the minerality and tartness from the acidity ... you'll also find your typical apple and lemon notes ... quite an interesting wine for those not looking for the usual in their unoaked Chard.
