Casa-Dea Estates 2009 Pinot Noir
Years ago I had a delightful Pinot Noir made by the former residence of this vineyard and made by a winemaker named Norman Hardie. Now Norman has his own place across the road and the delight is back in the bottle of the newly named Casa-Dea ... and I'm thrilled to see Pinot Noir back in style there. Made from their 20 acres of Pinot Noir this wine was aged 12 months in 20% new French oak (the rest was older). Juicy red fruit with hints of earth, cran-cherry, cinnamon and spice notes ... all leading to a tart finish. Price is very good for a Pinot from this region. Price: $19.95 - Rating: ****
