Complexity and price don’t always go hand-in-hand, here’s a prime example from Rosehall Run. A blend of 60% Niagara fruit and 40% County, which includes a percentage of barrel fermented wine (45%). The fruit never gets lost in this wine and that’s what makes it fresh and lively; there’s just so much pleasure for both the palate and the ‘nez’ (French for nose): peach, apple, fresh pear and a touch of vanilla find there way to both places. The palate remains crisp and lively with good acidity and the finish is a lime-pear combination that refreshes; and speaking of being refreshing, check out that price. Price: $14.95 – Rating: ****½
