Had this wine in its true element, with food. A blend of Gamay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, and although an odd combination it really showcases itself as a versatile red. Tried a cold bottle vs. a "warm" bottle and the difference is amazing. Warm brings out the spice, black fruit and herb nature of the wine ... Cold (or chilled) the wine has a bright red fruit, red licorice and a subtelty of spice and herbs. Both ways this wine is smooth and easy to drink with a long finish - but I would have to say that when chilled it really pops. Price: $15.95 - Rating: **** (warm) ****1/2 (chilled)
