During the winter of 2010 Lighthall had a problem - too much winter damage, the vines weren't buried in time and thus to make wine they had to look for grapes from their brothers to the west, Niagara, which is where they acquired the grapes for this 2010 wine. Aged 9 months in all French, 30% new barrels: juicy red berries with good acidity and a nice long black cherry finish. Clean, fresh and yet beefy (due to the 14.5% alcohol). Price: $25.00 - Rating: *** 1/2+
