Henry of Pelham 2007 Reserve Pinot Noir
2007 was an oddball year for Pinot Noir, it gave the usual delicate Pinto Noir grape some flavours and colours found in the more robust red varieties. The nose of this Pinot has baked fruits, namely raspberry and cranberry ... this is a result of the hot weather we experienced. The palate is loaded with leathery astringent notes and heavy on the tannins. I did learn that with plenty of aeration the fruit does start to emerge on the palate ... my recommendation is to lie this one down 2-3 years. Drink 2014-2020. Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****+
