Redcoat is Ravine's starter red, the one that gets you hooked on their brand/style of winemaking and gets you coming back for more ... It's also a play on the colonial history the property has. But enough about what's on the outside and why, time to talk about what's on the inside - cause I am told that's what counts. A blend of 46% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon ... this is a nice fruit forward red, lots of cherry notes with a slight bite from the tannins, the acidity wipes the palate clean and leaves behind a nice raspberry finish.
