There are lots of oak tones in this Chard: butter and vanilla dominate, then comes in lemon cream with more oak and more vanilla - I'm not hip to this overly oaky/buttery version of Chardonnay, but I do understand why some are, and why they can find it very appealing ... the rescuing feature of this wine is the spicy finish and the lots of acidity.
