Those of you who still aren't part of the Ontario Franc Fan Club on Facebook, should really consider joining up (unfortunately, it does not even exist at this time). There are so many good Ontario Cab Francs out there I can't believe we haven't landed it as the red grapes of Ontario. This Southbrook offering should act as a primer for those looking to what a "base-Franc" can be like in Ontario (and by base I mean from a non-stellar vintage). In the right hands, no matter what the year, Franc can perform very well. Nose of cherry and pencil shavings lead to blackberry, tobacco and spice with a nice clean well balanced finish.
