Closson Chase 2009 CCV Chardonnay
This is the estate bottling of the Closson Chase Chardonnay, their flagship. It spends 16 months in 25% new French oak and took 2 months to go through its primary fermentation using only indigenous (read: wild) yeast. The nose is buttery with vanilla notes, along with peach pit and butterscotch - it's an exotically sweet experience. The tastes keep the experience going with butter, subtle apple and peach pit finish as you suck the flavours out of your cheeks. The wine is creamy in the mouth, coating and releasing flavour slowly so that the finish just continues for an extra long time. For lovers of the grape this wine really lets you get your Chardonnay-fix. Price: $24.95 Rating: ****+
