When I was first asked which Gamay I wanted to try I shook my head in confusion - I thought I knew all the Malivoire Gamays. "Alive" seemed new to me, but no, it's just the marketing department taking over here. The letters a-l-i-v and e are highlighted on the label, as in m-A-L-I-V-oir-E, thus ALIVE. This is a decent follow up to the wonderful '09 version with an earthy-raspberry nose, which follows to the palate with hints of smooth cherry on the palate. Price: $17.95 - Rating: *** 1/2
