Ice House 2008 Late Harvest Cabernet Sauvignon
Two ways to make a "late harvest" wine - let the grapes hang later into the season or by pressing icewine grapes a second time once they have thawed. This wine is of the second pressing version. The wine smells like a bowl of fresh slightly sweetened strawberries ... the palate follows suit but with a drier than expected finish and some lovely spice notes. Don't be fooled by the 14 points on the sugar code, this one's lovely and not too sweet, I swear, or at least it comes off that way. Price: $25.00 / 200ml - Rating: *** 1/2+
